Treasurer's report: None, but no changes.

Old Business:

Horseless/Beginners: Shann Schwartz will again hold Horseless Horse project meeting on the 3rd Monday at 6:00 pm, starting in February. The other location will be Rising Star Stables in Francis Creek, on the 4th Thursday of the month. Brenda will be going over the list of enrolled project members, and will send an email out to everyone.

Winter Project Meetings: People gave their reports on the January project meeting. Bit bucks will be back in February! The February project meeting will feature more hippology, and Christal Mulder will be showing us the ins and outs of horse judging. If you plan to bring your horse to the March project meeting, don't forget to get your 2009 Coggins test done. Even though the main topic will be how to show in a "Dressage Suitability" class, both English & Western saddles are welcome. Dressage principles apply to all disciplines. Please RSVP to Marilyn by 3/21 if you'll be bringing your horse.

Open Pleasure & Gymkhana Shows: Contracts for the show have been signed. Brenda will get the insurance required. The show bills have been set. The $2 office fee only applies to those registering on the show day only. The volunteer sign-up sheets were passed around once again.

Horse-A-Rama: Marilyn reported that requests are beginning to come in for tack forms. An ad and article were sent to the Wisconsin Horsemen's News. The volunteer sign-up sheet was passed around again.

Spring Mailing: There will be no spring mailing, since all the information is now available on the website. Members can contact Brenda or Marilyn for hard copies if they do not have internet access.

Other Old Business: The "sweat shop" is set for March 22nd. Remember to bring sewing machines and food. Marilyn will ask Ruth about getting links to both the Horse and Dog Project website available on the county 4-H website.

New Business:

Spring Horse Camp: Dan Grunewald is not available for this year's camp. We will try to book him for 2010. We will ask Jack & Paula Curtis.

Open Arena/Gymkhana Practices: Open Arena dates are 6/24, 7/8 & 29, and 8/12. Other Wednesdays in between will be Gymkhana team practices. They will also schedule 5 of those nights with a clinician. The Committee will determine any cost for those nights.

Fundraising Ideas: Several fundraising ideas were discussed. The Committee decided to just go with a 50-50 raffle at our shows this year. Details need to be worked out as far as license, Leader's Board approval, etc.

Dates for 2009: Horse Bowl/Hippology May 2 in Wausau; Horse-A-Rama April 4-5; Kewaunee Co 4-H Horsemanship & Trail Clinic May 17; Horse Camp June 12-13; Horse Shows: July 18-19; other State clinics TBA.

Other New Business: The possibility of shirts for those going to Horse Bowl was mentioned. Anne Siebold reported on the article she submitted to the Horsemen's News, and is looking for ideas for awards/trophies for our shows. Any ideas should be brought to the March meeting.

Adjourned: 8:25 PM

Next Meeting: Tuesday, March 10, 2009; 7:00 PM.

Respectfully submitted: Marilyn Lentz, Secretary
