MANITOWOC COUNTY OFFICE COMPLEX

 

MEETING CALLED TO ORDER - 7:00 PM by Chairperson Brenda Weyers

ATTENDANCE: Brenda Weyers, Barb Pritzl, Kelly Hansen, Chelsea Neuman, Anne, Brianna & Amber Siebold, Shari & Isaak Riesterer, Tina Baxter, Skyler & Brandon Joy, Lucy, Kaylyn & Kelsey Cigler, Miranda Anderson (guest), Lacey Swetlik, Sheila Cron, Terry & Kelly Wilfert.

Brenda Weyers reported on 4-H insurance. Initial $2.00 enrollment fee provides $3000 accident coverage. Will need additional public liability insurance for horse show. Open arena and camp are covered under enrollment fee.

Brenda will work with Gary Barnes as optional horseless horse leader. Should consider combining horseless horse with beginner riders.

Winter project meetings:

January 31, 2009 - Joan Waak's stable - tack and hippology

February 28, 2009 - Shari Reisterer's stable - judging (halter) with Christel Mulder & Horse bowl review

March 28, 2009 - Joan Waak's stable - dressage - bring horses

Open Show - reviewed halter, showmanship and driving classes. Brenda requested members review rest of show bill for further discussion. Lucy Cigler is working on show bill for Gymkhana show. Brenda will contact Dave Pansy (first) and Kelly Mahloch (second) for open show judging. Overnite camping will be available.

Kelly Hansen will contact Dan Grunewald as spring camp clinician.

A speaker system would cost $1800 to $2000 new. Brenda will review online (Ebay) pricing.

Tabled for further discussion: State Expo Scholarship; "new member" meeting; date of sweatshop to complete banners.
