Old Business:

Sponsorships/Fair Forms/Participation Books:  All due to be submitted in June.  Sponsorships get mailed to Sheila Cron; both Fair Forms and the 08-09 Participation Books get turned in to your main leader.  09-10 Participation Books started June 1st.

Spring Trail Ride:  13 horses (and their riders) participated.  Good time was had by all.

Shows:  One of the belt buckles for High Point Awards was passed around.  As always, volunteers are still needed.  There are sign up sheets for selling tickets for the 50/50 raffles.  Brenda Weyers will submit an article to the Herald Times Reporter announcing our show, and Marilyn Lentz will type up the show booklets.  Angie Reich has agreed to be our “official show photographer.”  The missing timers have all been found.  Each family that volunteers at least 4 hours at either show will get one free stall per day (limit one per family).

T-Shirts:  Terri Wilfert will be picking up the order, and shirts will be available at Horse Camp.

Open Arena/Gymkhana:  Due to the rainy forecast, the June 10th event is canceled.  Keith Potter will present a clinic on ground manners, and Marilyn & Holly Lentz will give lunging tips on June 24th.  Patti Walter will give a clinic on hunter hack/jumping on July 8th.  Gymkhana practices continue on the other Wednesday evenings, as weather permits.

Spring Horse Camp:  So far 32 people and 16 horses have made reservations for Camp.  Friday night the horse games will run first, with horseless games to follow.  Mealtime drinks will be purchased by Marilyn Lentz; bring your own for in between.

Charter Renewal:  By-Law & Guideline revisions have been tabled for the time being.

Other Old Business:  The Participation Book review has been set for July 21st, 7 pm at Lentz’s.

New Business:

2009 County Fair:  Horses may arrive at the fairgrounds on Tuesday, August 25th from 9-7.  The Horse Show is Wednesday, August 26th, and the Participation Breakfast & Party is on Thursday, August 27th.  There was brief discussion about holding additional fun events on Wednesday evening.  Further plans will be made at the July meeting.

Stiefvater Scholarships:  A form for entering will be available by July.  Members can only win once.  Winners and alternates will be drawn and announced at fair.

Misc: Members are encouraged to come up with ideas for a 4-H booth/demonstration at the 2010 Horse-A-Rama.  Please bring them to future committee meetings.

Other New Business:  The committee discussed the availability of the hunter hack equipment, of which we own half.  Marilyn Lentz asks that people email photos taken at committee events to display on the website or Spaces page.
