Meeting Called to Order:  7:05 pm by Chairperson Brenda Weyers

 

Attendance:  Marilyn & Holly Lentz, Brenda, Brittney & Natalie Weyers, Tanya Joas, Barb & Megan Pritzl, Kim & Joel Luedtke, Lucy, Kelsey & Kaylyn Cigler, Camryn Braun, Anne Siebold, Sheila & Krandin Cron, Lacey Swetlik, Tina Baxter, Brandon & Skyler Joy, Terri & Kelly Wilfert, Sara & Faith Lubner, Lindsay Hansen, Stella Wiering, Mary, Rachel & Courtney Livingood, Darlene, Brianna & Heidi Propson, Courtney & Garrett Zima

 

Secretary’s report:  Approved as read.                Treasurer’s report:  Approved as read.

 

Old Business:

Participation Book Review:  Meeting will be at the Lentz’s on July 21^st.  Six leaders said they will be coming.

 

Shows:  Pre-entry forms were turned in to Marilyn, to be entered before the show.  Final pre-show reports were given by all persons in charge, with some discussion.  50/50 raffle tickets will be $1 each/6 for 5$; Wilfert Farms will donate the use of aprons.  Set up time was set at 3 pm Friday.

 

Open Arena/Gymkhana:  Reports were given on the two Open Arenas on 6/24 and 7/8.  7/29 will be Trail Obstacles with Shann Schwartz, and 8/12 will be a Mock Show with Eby Higdon, Keith Potter or Dan Schaut.

 

Spring Horse Camp:  Reports and discussion on this year’s camp.  The meals went well.  Beginner/Advanced divisions for clinics need to be reviewed for better learning and enjoyment.

 

Stiefvater Scholarship:  The amounts have been increased to $75 each (two scholarships).  Applications for 2009 are due by the August meeting.

 

Charter Renewal:  By-Law & Guideline revisions have been tabled for the time being.

 

 

New Business:

2009 County Fair:  Horses may arrive at the fairgrounds on Tuesday, August 25^th from 9-7.  The Horse Show is Wednesday, August 26^th, and the Participation Breakfast & Party is on Thursday, August 27^th.  Barb Pritzl has volunteered to be in charge of breakfast.  Megan Pritzl and Anne Siebold are in charge of games.  Stall judging will be on Thursday afternoon – judges are needed.  The superintendents will try to leave the small arena open during the horse pull for activities.

 

Horse Committee Insurance:  A motion was passed to have the Committee officers and Kevin Palmer as authorized persons on our insurance policy.

 

Other New Business:  State Gymkhana entries are due 8/15.  Please contact Lucy Cigler if you plan to join the team.
