Meeting Called to Order—7:05 PM by Chairperson Kelly Hansen.

Attendance:  Kelly & Lindsay Hansen, Tanya Joas, Sheila & Krandin Cron, Brenda, Brittney, & Natalie Weyers, , Briana & Darlene Propson, Barb & Megan Pritzl, Terri & Kelly Wilfert, Holly & Marilyn Lentz, Shari, Eli & Isaak Riesterer, Courtney & Debbie Zima.

Secretary’s report:  Passed as read.                 Treasurer’s report:  Passed as read.

 

Old Business:

Spring Camp: Thanks to everyone who made camp a success, despite the weather and our clinician cancelling.  We will shoot for June 12 & 13, 2009 for next year’s camp.

2008 July Show:  Saturday, July19th, 2008.  Friday setup will begin at Noon.  There will be a sign-in sheet for volunteer hours.  Brenda went over volunteer assignments.  Darlene will get gymkhana supplies.  Marilyn will prepare the show booklet.  Terri will contact FFA to let them know they can set up food booth Friday if needed.  A free stall is available to those whose families volunteer a total of 4 hours at the show.

Open Arena:  Our first open arena was June 25.  Keith Potter did a clinic on equitation.horsemanship patterns. 12 horses/riders attended.  The next open arena is July9 and will be with Shann Schwartz and will feature Trail obstacles.   July 30 will be dressage with Joan Waak, and August 13 will be a mock show to prepare for Fair.  All at 6:30 PM at Expo.

Participation Books: Books for 2008/2009 are available on the website or at upcoming events.  Meeting to count points in this year’s books will be at Marilyn’s on July 16^th at 6PM—adults only.

 

New Business:

2008 Fair: Horses arrive Tuesday.  Judging show is Wed.  Instead of a potluck lunch, we will do a breakfast for the Participation Party at 8AM on Thursday.  Prizes have all been purchased. Barb will coordinate the food, volunteer cooks, helpers will be needed.  We will begin our Fun Show at about 10AM with horse and horseless games: Horse: Catalog Race, Barrels, egg & spoon, Ride-A-Buck; Horseless: Barrels, wheelbarrow, underwear (boxers) race, water balloon toss, marshmallow blow.  We will also have a Costume contest. More games if time permits—the Horse Pull begins at 2PM.  If you are interested in leaving your horse at the Fair thru the weekend, see Marilyn.

Horse Judging Team:  Some members are interested in starting a Horse judging team for next year.  They will go back to their clubs to see how many may be interested.  Horseless members may also get involved.
