Meeting Called to Order:  7:02 pm by Chairperson Brenda Weyers

Secretary’s report:  Approved as read.                Treasurer’s report:  Approved as read.

 

Old Business:

Shows:  We had a fantastic turnout at our Pleasure & Gymkhana shows. Thank you to all volunteers. Preliminary income amounts are $1505 in Sponsorships, $2220 Pleasure Show entries, $2183 Gymkhana Show entries, $131 for the Saturday 50/50 raffle, and $92 for Sunday’s 50/50 raffle. Thank you cards should be sent out soon, including to Dan Schaut & Ruth Paul for watering the arena. The date will be set for July 17 & 18, 2010 for next year’s shows. An exhibitor called regarding Gymkhana Junior High Point; because of a tie she will be offered the choice of a belt buckle or $30.

 

Open Arena/Gymkhana:  Reports were given on the Trail/Obstacle Open Arena on 7/29.  8/12 will be a Mock Show with Keith Potter.

 

Stiefvater Scholarship:  Applications were accepted for this year’s scholarships. Last chance to submit one will be the 8/12 Open Arena. Winners will be drawn at the Participation Party at fair.

 

2009 County Fair: Fair activities and details were discussed. The committee agreed to hand out food booth coupons for the same amount as last year ($1). Exhibitors are welcome to stay through Saturday’s Open Show.

 

Charter Renewal:  By-Law & Guideline revisions will be made in September. Members are encouraged to read through them as currently posted on the website.

 

 

New Business:

State Horse Shows: A motion was passed to have the committee pay the required sponsorships and for tack stalls for those attending the State Gymkhana & Horse Expo. Some stall banners still need a little work, but they will be done in time.

 

Other New Business:  The committee may be applying for a $250 clinic grant from the State 4-H Horse Association. The application deadline is 11/1, so we need to come up with ideas. The committee will also apply for a $125 reimbursement from Horse-A-Rama for having our shows at the Expo grounds. There was some discussion about clearing overhanging branches by the small arena for safety reasons. Election of new officers will take place at the September meeting.
